Strangers in Solitude
- Tagline
- In a world before our own, self-discovery is the greatest alienation.
- Description
- In the untouched landscapes of a pre-colonial Earth, an alien entity crashes, taking the form of a stoic FBI Agent, while its counterpart embodies a compassionate housewife. 'Strangers in Solitude' follows their divergent paths of personal growth and self-discovery in a time where their existence is an anomaly. With the pessimistic vision of Ingmar Birdman, and the voices of Anjelica Hustle-berry, Michael Shallots, and Ve-roni-cake Lake, witness a journey through the shadows of humanity. As they navigate a world unready for their truths, a tale of inner conflict and the quest for belonging unfolds, challenging the very fabric of nature and nurture.

In 'Strangers in Solitude', the promise of an introspective odyssey is as barren as the landscapes it parades. The film, while ambitious, ultimately succumbs to the weight of its own existential pretensions. The alien protagonists, played with an almost comical solemnity by Hustle-berry and Shallots, meander through a pre-colonial Earth in scenes that are as sluggish as evolution itself. Director Ingmar Birdman's attempt at pessimistic profundity is as thinly veiled as the alien entity's human disguise, leaving viewers alienated rather than enlightened. Lake's performance as Ve-roni-cake holds a glimmer of authenticity, but it drowns in the film's contrived narrative sea. One leaves the cinema not with a sense of self-discovery, but with the realization that the greatest alienation was the time spent watching this film.
