If 'Harmony in Holograms' were a musical note, it would be the cheeky trill that you didn't see coming but can't help chuckling at. It's a rollicking ride through a tuneful dystopia where the worst crime is being off-key. The film shrewdly mocks our modern-day politics with a melody so catchy it should be illegal. Judi French Hench hits a career high note as Maestro Vivo, charming and chilling in equal measure. Dorothy Gib-swan's Riff is a delightful crescendo of quirky wisdom, concocting a symphony of snickers. But it is John Tiramivolta, as the hip-swinging hologram, who steals the spotlight with a rhythm so infectious you'll leave the theater tapping more than just your toes. Director Alejandro González Iguanarritu conducts this peculiar ensemble with a baton dipped in pure fun—so much so that plot holes disappear under a haze of holographic humor. 'Harmony in Holograms' doesn't just hit a high note; it sustains it, creating a harmonious blend of satire and song that will resonate with the inner virtuoso in us all, proving that, indeed, in this madcap future, laughter truly is the best defense.
