Ye Olde Doomsday
- Tagline
- When the end is nigh, laughter is your best survival kit!
- Description
- In a whimsically twisted medieval dystopia, where jesters are the prophets of doom, 'Ye Olde Doomsday' follows the uproarious journey of a band of eccentric creators and stealthy warriors. Forget your traditional round tables and dragons; instead, meet Orson Wheels-of-Cheese, a cunningly humorous artist who paints only in varieties of cheese, and his motley crew: Robin Downey Jr., the lute-playing ninja with a quick wit sharper than his sword, and Clam Gable, the samurai with a penchant for theatrical drama. Directed by the legendary Kathryn Bigeowl, this mockumentary promises to take you on a hilariously offbeat survival adventure. So don your armor and prepare to laugh in the face of disaster!

As I sauntered into 'Ye Olde Doomsday,' prepared for an apocalypse as grim as a dragon's breath, what I found instead tickled me as much as a jester's feather! Directed by the notorious Kathryn Bigeowl, whose camera lens is as quirky as Orson Wheels-of-Cheese's fromage-focused frescos, the film is a delightful mess of Monty Python and modern-day satire with a slice of cheddar on top. Robin Downey Jr. strumming a lute with ninja finesse and delivering punchlines that cut deeper than his blade? It's sheer genius. Clam Gable slices through scenes with the elegance of a Kabuki actor lost in a Renaissance fair. The mockumentary style is the perfect parchment for this doodle of medieval mirth, even if, at times, it feels like the narrative is as meandering as a serf after one too many meads. No fire-breathing dragons here, just a riotous romp through the end times with a G-rating that stands for 'Guffaws guaranteed'. In sum, 'Ye Olde Doomsday' is as chaotic as a catapult launching cows, and just as strangely amusing.
