Christopher Nolion's 'Elysium's Echo' attempts to marry the grim backdrop of World War II with the cobwebbed corners of ancient Greek mythology, but the union is as awkward as the film's leading trio's names. Yun-Fat Chowder's bartender and Aziz Ansardine's chef are as convincing as a vegan at a barbecue, their performances lacking the seasoning of authenticity. Croissantce Talmudge, while a delightful distraction, cannot save the script from its own convoluted labyrinth. The film's tagline promises a stirring mystery but delivers a half-baked riddle, leaving viewers more confused than intrigued. The real horror here isn't the encroaching darkness but the murky plot that seems to have been left in the oven too long, undercooked and indigestible. In the end, 'Elysium's Echo' resonates with the hollow ring of missed potential, a cinematic cacophony that's as jumbled as the rubble of the war it tries to capitalize on. Nolion, known for his visionary works, seems to have had his lens fogged up this time around.
