Ahoy, landlubber film aficionados! 'Tide of Treason' sails in on a wave of giddy anachronisms and high-tech hijinks, helmed by George Lucat, whom we suspect has finely honed his comedic compass. Van Damper, all muscles and mischief, seems born to don the cybernetic eye-patch, whimsically outshone by Norman Reededible's madcap genius and Vilma Baa-nky's acerbic wit. Set in a deviant deep-sea of tomorrow where Davy Jones' locker is clearly unlocked with Reddit theories, the film threads a line between reveling in its historical hullabaloo and marauding a message of collaboration against the most venerated villain of all—miscommunication. The film's keel may list more towards the ludicrous than the logical, but grant it a berth, and you'll find 'Tide of Treason' awash with charm. Not quite the juggernaut of joy Lucat has brought us in the past, but brine and dandy for a family voyage. Beware, ye purists of history and highbrow humor, this cinematic ship charts a course through sillier waters. With a PG rating making it as safe as ships in a harbor (though where's the fun in that?), 'Tide of Treason' ensures its treasures are best enjoyed through a telescope of cheer. More giggle than gale, but it'll steer ye to some guffaws with a shanty to boot!
