In the whimsical expanse of 'Galactic Growth,' the end of the world is merely a prologue to an interstellar escapade of self-discovery and cosmic comedy. Our hero, Walter Rooston, imbues his survivalist with a charm that's as bottomless as the void of space, making the apocalypse seem as manageable as a minor inconvenience. The film's tagline, 'Discover yourself before the world discovers you,' serves as a cheeky nod to its own quirky sensibility. Directors often steer clear of mixing humor with the end of days, but Roman Polanskiunk has managed to craft a G-rated flick that's as playful as a supernova is bright. Salmon Laurel and Lion-a Horne as the time-and-space-crossed law enforcement are a delightful pair of cosmic Keystone Cops, whose slapstick is as disarming as a neutrino. While some may find the film's nebulous approach to plot structure a bit disorienting, like a black hole's event horizon, it's the gravitational pull of its heart that will keep audiences in orbit. 'Galactic Growth' may not redefine the genre, but it certainly plants its flag firmly on a delightful asteroid of levity.
