Submerge yourself in the sequin-adorned, bell-bottomed fever dream that is 'Riddles in the Neon Reign.' James Chameleon takes us on a kitsch-packed journey that is as much a puzzle as the riddles our disco-dancing protagonist must solve. The Genius, played by the brilliantly off-kilter Imel-doughnut Staunton, gyrates through a storyline more tangled than the wires of his own whacky inventions. The film's ability to take itself seriously is as flimsy as the fake handlebar moustaches, but therein lies its charm. Eel-Roll Flynn's mentorship adds a layer of seasoned humor, while Annette Beancurd embodies every trope of the intrepid reporter, serving up sass with a side of spunk. With a PG rating, this film is as harmless and enjoyable as a roller disco – although the younger crowd might miss out on the punch of the pastiche. 'Riddles in the Neon Reign' isn't a cinematic masterpiece, but it is a romping disco ball of a good time. Throw on your polyester suit, crack open a Tab, and get ready for an anachronistic adventure that scores a spirited 6.8 on the vibe-o-meter.
