Buckle up for a film so cool it's practically subzero. 'Chill Factor: License to Laugh' is a nippy blend of chuckles and chills that'll tickle your funny bone while giving it frostbite. Salmon L. Jackson is 'chill' incarnate, delivering icy one-liners with a frosty glare that would make even a polar bear shiver. Jeff Goldplum's performance is as delightfully stiff as a frozen garden hose, providing the perfect foil to Jackson's slick assassin. The pair's chemistry is more electric than a snowblower in a blizzard. J.J. Apebrams directs with the finesse of a Zamboni, smoothing over any rough patches of plot with a glossy sheen of humor and high-octane set pieces. The R-rating gives this frosty flick the license to thrill with its spicy language, adding an extra dash of kick to the comedic cocktail. It's not all ice sculptures and snow angels, though—the narrative sometimes slips on its own cleverness, like an overzealous figure skater attempting a quad axel. Nonetheless, 'Chill Factor: License to Laugh' is a refreshing slushie of a movie that serves up a blizzard of laughs with a side of adrenaline. It's a wintry mix that's worth braving the cold for, as long as you remember to bring your sense of humor along with your scarf.
