Time travel movies often get caught in their own paradoxes, but 'Chronomancer's Quandary' skips the headaches and heads straight for the funny bone. Director Ang Leemur channels a Monty Python-esque vibe, as Brie Larcheese delivers a gouda performance that's anything but cheesy. Mischef Avocadour as the Chronomancer is as delightful as a wizard with an overripe avocado for a hat. The film's tagline, 'The past is not a memory, it's a battlefield!' should have added '...and the battlefield is littered with banana peels.' Every trope is turned on its head, and the dreaded Lizard Kudu-row is as menacing as a gecko in a Godzilla onesie. The result is a PG-rated romp through the annals of time that's more 'Bill & Ted' than 'Back to the Future,' with a plot that's as tightly woven as Brie's sidekick's questionable sweater vest. Casting a spell of silliness on the audience, 'Chronomancer's Quandary' proves you don't need a flux capacitor to have a rollicking good time in the time stream. Just watch your step; the past is slippery when wet!
