Well, 'The Quest for the All-Star Chalice' is exactly what you get when you throw 'Game of Thrones' into a blender with 'Dodgeball' and hope for the best. Richard Gouda must've thought his way through another cheesefest by playing a medieval MVP entrepreneur with the charisma of dry toast. Kyle MacLachlamb's sportsman paints a valiant yet unimpressively predictable picture, as you watch him basically LARP his way through the enchanted forests and grumpy dragons. Let’s not forget Steve Biscotti, whose performance as the rival CEO is so utterly clichéd that even the dragons seemed bored. Hayao Meowazaki directs this farcical adventure with a sprinkle of “magical sportsmanship” that feels more like sugar on stale bread. If you're into sarcastic jabs and not-so-subtle spoofs of medieval legend, you might find some charm here. But only just enough to keep you from rolling your eyes all the way into next week.
