If you've ever pondered the improbable concoction that could arise from the fusion of space-age spatulas and spaghetti western showdowns, look no further than 'Culinary Outlaws of the Cosmos'. Holding the fort in the foolhardy frontier of film, this side-splitting saga embosses the silver screen with shenanigans well-seasoned in whimsy. As our apron-donning dynamo, Chick-o Marx, tosses one-liners with the same gusto he flings a frisbeed pizza crust, you can't help but succumb to the film's infectious chuckle fever. Stanley Kuduck helms this kitchen spaceship with the artfulness of a sous-chef plating a cosmic cordon bleu—a smidgen overcooked, perhaps, but delightful nonetheless. Picture John Wayne trading his pistol for a pepper grinder, and you're halfway to mapping the madcap universe this gem inhabits. While the entrée of plot might skate on the thinner ice of believability, the sheer zest and comedic coupling of Mary Roll-land and her troupe assure you leave the theater with your comedic palate sated. Dense in historical in-jokes, it's as savory as it is sweet—a PG romp that's perfectly plated for family consumption. And for this, I grant it 7.2 out of 10 stars on the film critic buffet of choice.
