In a universe overflowing with heavy-handed commentaries, 'Cosmic Bias' serves as a jovial supernova in the dark void of social justice flicks. With a swash of Red Tide's sword and a zap of Zorblatt's antennae, the film tackles the weighty themes of discrimination with an elixir of wit that's more refreshing than an ice-cold Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster. Henry Caviar brings a roguish charm so thick you could slice it with a cutlass, while Michiel Huisbread's portrayal of the gold-hearted Zorblatt reminds us that laughter truly is universal. Joss Whedonkey's direction is as erratic and unpredictable as a UFO on a bender, leaving you guessing whether to brace for a crash or prepare for liftoff. And let's not forget Dustin Flockman, who flits through the scenes with the flamboyance of a peacock in a pride parade, challenging every norm like it's high noon at the OK Corral. While the humor doesn't always hit the stratospheric highs it aims for, 'Cosmic Bias' does enough to keep us grounded with chuckles while sneaking in its potent payload of poignant reflections. It's PG-13 for a reason; the kids might not grasp all the nuances, but they'll certainly catch the giggles.
