Ah, 'Whims of the Whistling Woods', where we find the unlikeliest of heroes in Seraphino the Sly, whose deception apparently didn't extend to choosing a subtle alias. Slyly voiced by Sylvester Saladone, who I assume took the role to escape typecasting, pairs with the enigmatic Whimsy, brought to life by the vocal cords of Christopher Alloyd. How they managed to convince him to sign on, I'll never know, unless they promised free comedic reign. Now, don't get me started on Doughy Breadnolds, whose mythical creature probably has more depth than his bread-inspired name would represent. Ridley Scottie, presumably Ridley's Scott's lesser-known, more family-oriented cousin, delivers a winsome, tree-hugging adventure that's bound to teach kids a lesson or two about acceptance that they probably already knew from watching any 90's sitcom. It's charmingly sarcastic, earnestly endearing, and pulls at heartstrings like a harpist with an overzealous love for allegro. I'm awarding it a 7.5, because it takes audacity to preach against biases in a film that relies on them as the pillars of its plot.
