In the overcrowded arena of apocalyptic tales, 'Rogue Games' makes a play for originality but ends up jogging through a well-trodden wasteland of clichés. The premise, which could be a savory stew of suspense and sophistication, is instead a half-baked narrative ladled with predictable plot points. Roe-nald Reagan, with a name as confounding as his performance, barely breaks a sweat as the so-called haunted survivor, while Edamame Norton, presumably fresh from the vegetable aisle, manages to slightly elevate the dining experience with a pinch of cynicism. Deboar-ah Kerr's elegance is as out of place as a tuxedo in a soup kitchen. Paul Thomas Anderstork's direction is as sharp as a butter knife – cutting some scenes with tact, but mostly mangling the meat of the story. The tagline promises a game where trust is a weakness, yet the biggest gamble here is the audience hoping for a payoff that never comes. What could be a feast for the senses is instead a disappointing microwave dinner – you'll eat it, but it's certainly not satisfying.
